What is the Fushigi Ball?

What is the Fushigi Ball?

Fushigi is a brand new, never before seen ball used in the dynamic art of Contact Juggling. Contact Juggling has been around for decades and has recently exploded into the main stream market thanks to Fushigi.

With your Fushigi Ball you can exploit the sphere's reflective properties through specific hand/body isolations and movements. These isolations and movements are designed to make the Fushigi sphere appear to defy the laws of gravity or even float! It does not simply float on its own.

Contact Juggling with Fushigi is an incredible and therapeutic form of relaxation that is great for all ages. Plus, the art of maneuvering a reflective sphere through mind and body will absolutely amaze and enthrall your friends!

The Fushigi Ball has been designed to be a safe yet still beautiful alternative to the clear acrylics that many Contact jugglers have favored over the years. Where a clear acrylic could pose a fire danger if left exposed to direct sunlight, either outside, or in a car, or under a open window; the Fushigi Ball will not create the lens effect, eliminating the fire hazard involved.

Fushigi Ball comes with a DVD that will teach you moves to begin you on your journey into the contact juggling world. With practice and dedication you can amaze your friend while having fun with Fushigi Ball.

Contact Juggling

Contact Juggling (also known as Dynamic Manipulation, Sphereplay, Orb Rolling, Spherical balancing, etc) is a form of object manipulation in which the ball or balls are kept in contact with the body. The different manipulations can give the appearance that the balls may be floating even though they are in fact always in contact with the body. Contact Juggling can be performed with any number of balls. The fundamental ideas of contact juggling were formulated in the early 1980s by physical artist Michael Moschen, although different forms of CJ Contact Juggling have been around for quite some time.

Contact Juggling can be broken down into 3 major categories, these categories can be blended together and integrated into many different manipulations. But for simplicities sake we categorize types of moves into Body Rolling, Multiball, and Isolations.

Body Rolling tricks involve the rolling of spheres on the body.
Isolations are tricks involving the illusion of a floating ball.
And Palmspinning tricks involve the manipulation of multiple balls in the hands.

Contact Juggling is relaxing; It is also fun, and improves hand eye coordination, and improves kinesthetic awareness. Its a great hobby and performance art that some pick up casually, and others dedicate their lives to working on and performing.
